The Oakley M Frame can trace its roots back to 1989, where the frame debuted as the “Mumbo”. After a legal stoush with Australia’s own Mambo clothing brand, the frame was hastily renamed the “M Frame” as a tongue-in-cheek dig at the lawyers who forced the change. The M Frame’s form is a prototypical performance model, if you asked a kid to draw a pair of sunglasses it’s likely this is what you’d essentially see.
Over the years the frame went through many refinements to the original recipe, receiving a substantial update in 2014, renamed the M2. With the update came a host of performance improvements, allowing the M2 to offer a wide field of vision whilst allowing ample ventilation to avoid sweat and fog build-up.
